Blue Dolphins Swim Team
Healthy Competition Skills for Life
Every kid has swimming abilities – there’s a little Michael Phelps or Simone Manuel in each of them. Help yours find their swimming potential through the County Y’s Blue Dolphins Swim Team! Swimmers of all ages and abilities participate in our Swim Teams. Led by caring coaches, we emphasize personal improvement through stroke technique and training, a strong work ethic and team work through competitive swimming. Swimmers compete locally with the opportunity to advance to the district, state and national level.

Program Offerings
Our team is open to swimmers age 6 (as of December 1, 2023) through 19, and of any level or ability, provided they can pass a swim safety test (more details under “New Swimmers” below). The 2024 Summer Season will start Monday, June 3rd at PennWest Edinboro’s McComb Fieldhouse.
Practice will be held Monday through Thursday, 5:15-6:30pm. Dry land practice will begin at 5:15pm followed by pool practice at 5:30pm.

At the YMCA, the safety of children is our top priority. All volunteers must have current Act 33 and 34 clearances, as well as a completed volunteer application, which includes a Code of Conduct. As all Swim Team families will be asked to volunteer at swim meets, we require that at least one person per family become a certified volunteer for this purpose. Parents who have current Act 33 and Act 34 clearances may provide copies for their volunteer files. If the parent has no current clearances, the YMCA will obtain them at no cost to the applicant. Under “Forms and Information” you will find a link to complete an electronic application. We thank you for joining us in keeping our kids as safe as possible!
NEW SWIMMERS
Welcome to our team! New swimmers will need to take a swim safety test. These tests will be conducted at the first practice on Monday, June 3rd. Swimmers must also be or become a member of the YMCA, per YUSA mandate.
RETURNING SWIMMERS
Please fill out the relevant forms listed below. Forms can be turned in at the County Y’s Membership Desk or emailed to Emily at [email protected]. All forms must be turned in to the County Y before your child’s first practice.
Registration is open through June 8th. Swimmers can register online at YMCA Swim Team, by phone (814.734.5700) or in person at the County Y’s front desk.
