Walking For Wellness
Let the Y encourage you to take that first step! For the month of February, we are excited to be implementing a walking challenge for our YMCA members. This challenge aims to promote an increase to your daily movement and activity. With a small, achievable goal of 3,500 steps every day, we hope to smoothly and easily integrate an aspect of fitness into your day to day.
Here are some recommendations of locations to walk to help start this challenge on the right foot:
Glenwood Park YMCA Track: 20 laps = On average 2,000 steps
Millcreek Mall: 1 lap throughout all corridors = On average 2,000 steps
Presque Isle: Walking 1.6 miles = 3,250 steps
Treadmill: 10 minute walk = an average of 2,000 steps
Challenge runs from February 1st – February 28th
Goal is 98,000 steps or higher. Top 5 steppers will receive Y swag.
