Join us each month for a new theme and lots of family-friendly activities.
Magic for Beginners
Learn the fundamentals of card magic with Joe Hohman at the Glenwood YMCA. Individuals or families can join this SIX-WEEK course, which will cover all the necessary sleight of hand skills and card controls needed to confidently perform classic “minor miracles” to amaze your friends and loved ones. Prior experience is not required, but a quick mind, ten fingers, and committed PRACTICE will be essential.

Parents' Afternoon Out
What might you do with four child-free hour less than two weeks before Christmas? Finish up some shopping, start some baking, wrap some gifts, or maybe just take a bubble bath? Well, now’s your chance to make it happen!
Kid Zone and Child Care staff are planning a fun afternoon with movies, crafts, board games, and activities for kids ages 3 – 10. We’ll also have pizza, Christmas Cookies, cocoa, and a visitor from the North Pole! Kids will make up official wish lists (we’ll be on hand to help the little ones) to give to Kris Kringle, who is scheduled to make an appearance sometime during the afternoon. We’ll return the wish lists to parents in Top Secret envelopes as a keepsake, along with small polaroid Santa pics.

Parents' Night Out
Looking for some adult time? Send the kids to Parents’ Night Out!
Kids (3 to 11, MUST BE POTTY TRAINED) enjoy a movie and fun night while parents enjoy a night to themselves. Make it a date night, clean the house, or just put up your feet and relax while your child(ren) have some pizza, watch a movie, play some games, and do some crafts. Leave the fun to us!

Parents' Outing Events
A Parents’ Outing event is the perfect opportunity for your children to have a fun time with friends while you run errands, go on a date, or take some time for yourself! The Y’s enthusiastic staff will guide your children through fun activities that can include: arts & crafts, open gym play, dance parties, theme-based movies and more!
In addition the fun activities described above, registration includes: dinner, drinks and a snack.

Slip Slidin' Away at the YMCA
No matter if there’s a chill in the air, it’s always warm at the pool! Kids can have fun on the indoor slide at the small (warm) pool (subject to lifeguard availability).. Anyone using the slide must have passed the Deep Water Test, so be sure to get your green band!

Youth and Family Gym Nights
We understand it ‘s hard to find open gym play time for kids and families. That’s why we are designating time in the gym for a “NO PICKUP BALL ZONE”, reserving it for families and youth up to age 17. Registration is not required.
Starting January 2025, Youth and Family Gym nights WEEKLY on Thursdays from 6 – 8pm!
