A Dual Meet is a competition against another YMCA Swim Team. There is no fee for participation. Coaches choose the events for swimmers in these meets, but swimmers may request to be included in certain events. Swimmers must compete in 3 dual meets to compete in the Championship meet (High School swimmers also have to compete in 3 dual meets).

Invitational meets are optional but strongly recommended. They are a fun and exciting opportunity for swimmers to measure progress, experience the thrill of competition, and strive for individual and team accomplishments. All YMCA Swim teams are invited to compete in these fundraiser events as opposed to one YMCA competing against another. Swimmers and their families can choose which events they would like to swim, for a small fee but can ask their coaches for recommendations.
