Certification Courses
Our ASHI approved Training Centers offer a range of courses in first aid, CPR, AED, and emergency oxygen administration for the community, the workplace, healthcare providers, child care providers, teachers, and EMS professionals; all trainings are conducted by authorized ASHI instructors.
A written and practical evaluation must be completed to earn certification. All students must perform required skills competently without assistance.
All certifications are good for 2 years (non-aquatics personnel).

Babysitting Certification at Eastside Y
The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program, facilitated by ASHI-certified YMCA instructors, gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The program teaches how to get started with a business, working with parents and children, and key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. Program includes skills check and certification card.

Basic Life Support, Adult First Aid, Emergency Use of Medical Oxygen
AMERICAN SAFETY AND HEALTH INSTITUTE CERTIFICATION COURSE INFORMATION
This training program through the American Safety and Health Institute for Basic Life Support (BLS) is intended to assist healthcare provider, including professional rescuers, in learning or refining BLS skills for patients of all ages (Adult, Child and Infant). These critical, potentially life-saving skills include performing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) as a single provider and part of a team. BLS also includes knowing how to relieve foreign body airway obstruction. You can add on First Aid (FA) and Emergency Oxygen (optional for non-YMCA employees).
We also offer Pediatric CPR, AED & First Aid (Blended) Training. This training is designed to meet national certification standards for childcare providers and teachers. Training covers infant, child and adult CPR, AED and First Aid.
After registration to the GENERAL INQUIRY, you will be contacted to discuss your course options for registration. Once registered, you will be emailed a link from HSI to complete the self-directed online course and test; please allow two business days to receive your training email. The online training must be completed prior to scheduling the in-person meeting to TEST you on skills. We can also certify company groups as well.
